Communicating Preferences Regarding Course Location on Degree Audit

Some courses fulfill two general education requirements. However, each course can only apply once to the general education section of the degree audit. For example, CCS100 Introduction to Cultural Studies satisfies both Humanities and Local & Global Perspectives, but a particular student can only use CCS100 to satisfy either Humanities or Local & Global Perspectives.

By default a course will satisfy whichever general education requirement of the two appears first on the degree audit.

If a student prefers that a course be moved from the first of the two requirements to the second of the two requirements, all the student needs to do is send a request to graduation@augsburg.edu. The student should  send the request after registering for the course and observing that it is appearing under the first of the two requirements.

Approved Courses in the New General Education Curriculum

If students are convinced that the new general education requirements, the 2025 requirements for their major, and the 2025 requirements for their minor are preferable for their unique situation, they may submit a Switch Catalog Year Form. They need to be aware that processing of the form will permanently change their graduation requirements to those found in the 2025 Undergraduate Catalog.

The Registrar’s Office will notify students once their form has been processed and their degree audit and transfer credit report updated.
