World History: Modern – Jonathan Ferrante

Jonathan Ferrante is a College Board consultant for AP World History: Modern. He is a National Board-Certified teacher who has taught social studies for 28 years, including two years in New York City and over 20 years on Long Island. For the past 23 years he has taught at Smithtown High School West. Mr. Ferrante has been teaching AP World History since its inception in 2002 and has served numerous times as an AP exam reader, table leader and early table leader. In preparation for the recent changes to the AP World History: Modern course, Mr. Ferrante has participated in a project to design a syllabus for the College Board and contributed several lessons in the new APSI World History: Modern Workbook. He has also contributed to the development of the new Pre AP-World History course. As a question writer and reviewer for Cengage Publishing, he contributed to the Voyages in World History and The Earth and Its Peoples textbooks. He has also served on the Teaching Committee for the World History Association. Along with teaching at Smithtown High School West, he is also an adjunct assistant professor at Suffolk County Community College where he teaches history of religion.
